Next consider that the fins are NOT the same thickness one to … WebJun 7, 2011 · on the 8ba flywheel the starter ring gear is 5/8" wide. on a 59a it's 7/8" this is one way to check ( with the starter removed)through the starter hole in the pan. this is measured from the seam where it's pressed on the flywheel, out to the end of the teeth. and bolted on the crank an 8ba is 1/4" further back ( away from the engine) than the 59a.
